Now that the exams are over, the long-awaited school holidays are here! You are so ready to have fun and relax, but you don't want to waste your whole break lazing around either…

Don’t fret! Here are 7 productive things you can do during the school holidays:

1. Reflect and set goals.

Look back on the past semester and reflect on what you managed to do well and what needs to be worked on. Did you manage to achieve some of the goals you set out for yourself?

Although you may not want to dwell on the past, it is important to recall key events that have occurred before you forget them! Set some realistic goals for the next semester, so that you have a plan ahead of time on how you aim to improve.

2. Take online courses.

Pick up new skills and knowledge by taking some online courses during your break. Try picking up courses to learn skills that can be applied to your field of study. Not only will you stand out from the rest of the job candidates, you are also future-proofing your career ahead of time!

You can even consider exploring a new field outside of your study to enhance your knowledge. Who knows, you may even end up getting a job in that field next time!

Check out our Polaris courses to master hot topics, like data analytics and equity research! Equip yourself with the top skills you’ll need in 2022, like coding using Python and SQL!

3. Learn how to manage your money.

Although it is never too late to start learning how to properly manage your money, building financial literacy early on will allow you to take control of your financial future! Learn how to manage your income and invest so that you can start growing your savings today!

4. Take up a part-time job or internship.

With all this free time, why not consider finding a job to earn some money or gain some experience? Get a head start by interning at a company you like to pad up your resume! You get to hone your skills and gain insights into the industry. If you want more free time to yourself, a part-time job might be better as some offer flexible schedules, so that you can work and play!

5. Start a business.

Feeling ambitious? Try starting a small business of your own!

If you are skilled in designing or writing, you can consider freelancing to earn some side income! Other ways you can earn some side income include dropshipping and affiliate marketing.

6. Network with others.

If you want to really build your career, networking is the key to success. Create long-term relationships with others in the industry to receive more support and opportunities in your career.

Amidst the pandemic, it can be hard to attend networking events. Instead, opt for virtual networking events for specific industries you are interested in getting into! Keep a look out for our virtual networking events coming your way in 2022, where you get to network with industry professionals and ask them your burning questions!

7. Have fun and relax!

And of course, don’t forget to relax and take a much-needed break from school! Whether it be having a get-together with your friends or sleeping in, take some time to recharge yourself!
